Tall Girl Problems

As of late, I’ve read quite a few posts about short girl problems. I can wholeheartedly sympathize with shorter people and the problems they face, heck, I was short once as well, but as a very tall woman (nearly 6ft) I thought I would share the absolute hilarity that I have to endure on a daily basis and all the other tall girl problems I could think of, so I hope you enjoy.
Clothing
Nothing fits and I really mean nothing.

I can understand how hard it is for shorter people to buy clothes; having access material hanging all over the place, having to alter trousers, dresses and tops to fit properly but spare a thought for us dear ol’ tall birds, who have to wear clothes that look as if they’ve all shrunk in the dryer.

Crop tops = Bralets
Normal tops = Crop tops
Dress tops = Normal tops
Mini dress = See what I had for dinner last night
Midi dress = Hey, look at my butt cheeks
Maxi dress = THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS A MAXI DRESS WHEN YOU'RE THIS TALL

Long sleeved tops/coats/jackets/etc = Jack ups
All trousers = Jackups
Playsuits/jumpsuits/rompers = Lots and lots of camel toe

Men
Do you know what’s hard? Finding a decent man.
Do you know what’s really hard? Finding a decent tall man.
Do you know what’s even harder than that?! Finding a decent tall man, who also likes tall girls!

Those types of guys are the stuff of legends.

Short girls who only date tall guys
I get it.

We're brought up thinking the ideal man is tall, dark and handsome but if you are short, I'd just like to remind you that you have a plethora of men to choose from. By all means, have all the men up to 5.11ft, have them all! I'll even put bows on them for you, but I beg of you, please leave the 6ft and overs alone. Do you know what I look like holding the hand of a guy who is 5.8ft?

It gets real creepy, real quick.

Always in the way
Gigs: *stands right at the back of the gig* Shorter person – ‘Can you not stand there, I can’t see’ *moves somewhere else* ‘Hey, I can’t see now! Can you move!’ *sigh*
Public Transport: ‘You’re legs are really long and are taking up a lot of room, can you move seat or stand?’
Photos: ‘You’re the tallest, get to the back’
Cinema: ‘Your head is in the way, please move?’

We stick out like a sore thumb
There's no hiding us!
Feeling like a massive manly man...
...all the time.

Nope, we're never going to feel like a delicate, feminine flower anytime soon.
"WOW, YOU’RE TALL!!!!"

People stare...a lot

Oh, did I mention?! YOU'RE REALLY TALL!!! :|

I hope you enjoyed this light hearted post. I'm sure I've missed out some blinding examples of tall girls problems but for now this will do! Whether you're small or tall, tell me in the comments below what problems do you face when it comes to your height! Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I'm almost 5'9". I have the same struggles with clothes fitting. Especially dresses. And that's an issue when the work dress code is "length has to be below the knees". On top of that, I ended up with a short man. He's 5'4". It doesn't bother me. I can reach the top kitchen cabinet without a ladder (those things must be designed by tall men) but he can't. I'd have preferred someone around my own height but he can't help bring short and I can't help being tall.

    1. Aw, that's so sweet! I've been with guys smaller than me and realistically, once you're together, your height doesn't even matter any more. It's good your other half can reach things on the bottom shelf and you can reach the stuff on the top shelf...perfect match really! x

  2. Oh my god, this is brilliant!! As a 5"8 girl I can totally sympathise with you on every single point. Why do people think that they need to tell you that you're tall. I know, I have eyes!! Aww loved this :)

  6. I actually laughed out reading this! I'm about 5ft8, so not that tall but I definitely suffer from the lack of clothing as I have a long torso and almost nothing fits me properly. I have quite a few mini dresses I wear as shirts! xx

    1. So you know the struggle as well! Haha! I know it's hard for all different shapes and size but I too have a long torso as well and everything is cropped on me! (including the top I'm wearing today haha) xx
